Overview

International Networks at Indiana University (IN@IU) delivers network connectivity that fosters the scientific collaboration that drives research and education in every corner of the world.

From niche projects to large-scale research efforts, IN@IU uses high performance networking as a tool to advance scientific diplomacy.

International collaboration is the lifeblood of scientific research and discovery, and two connections most critical to 21st century innovation call Bloomington, Indiana home. IN@IU is responsible for planning, operating, and managing Networks for European, American, and African Research (NEAAR) and TransPAC.

With award funding provided primarily by the National Science Foundation (NSF), these projects provide an "on-ramp" to the world's research and education (R&E) communities by connecting US scientists with their counterparts in Europe and Asia.

IN@IU is part of the global research and education (R&E) community that supports one another through frequent communication, cooperation, and collaboration. The National Science Foundation (NSF) supports these activities by soliciting proposals for International Research Network Connections (IRNC) in production network environments and experimental networking activities supporting cyberscience applications.
